Mobile Phone and Smart Phone problems and solutions for the Huawei Ascend P2

Problem: The battery doesn't want to hold the charge it takes ages to charge like 12 hours to do 50% and then drains really quickly, any ideas?

Solution 1: i would suggest loading in to the recovery mode, clear the cache partition only. reboot it. after that, give it a full charge , once it reaches 100%. unplug the charger and let it naturally empty its charge, once it does this leave it off for a few hours, then charge fully again. and turn on.

Problem: Drops network signal.No coverage.Random,could be fine for 24 hours then suddenly drop.Turn off phone and restart to connect.

Solution 1: Try holding your phone differently. I believe the antenna is placed in the bottom of the phone for some reason.

Problem: My phone is frozen and won't respond.

Solution 1: Do a hard reset. Hold the power button down for ten seconds or so, or Google how to do a hard reset.

Problem: My phone has just switched itself off and then keeps turning on again but as soon as I try to unlock it - it has turned itself off again. It keeps turning on and off all the time.

Solution 1: If you can get it to stay on long enough.Install google now launcher. Uninstall huawei app updates and disable as many of the huawei pre installed apps as you can including the multiple language packs. Especially make sure you uninstall and disable the "me" widget. This was the last thing I did before the phone stopped having this issue. Just disabling the ME widget won't work on its own by the way. On the plus you'll have an app drawer with the google now launcher

Problem: The phone keeps restarting randomly. I can't get anything done because I keep having to sort it out after my phone reboots.

Solution 1: There may be a few reasons for this. In a phone that had a removable memory card, I would say to take that out and try again without it (or reformat the card) but in this case I think it is possibly due to either (a) an application that is running in the background that is causing the reboot, or (b) a faulty component. For (a), try to shut down any applications that are currently running, particularly any that are new to your phone. For (b), try turning off all the additional functions on your phone and see if that stops the problem. If so, turn them on one by one until you find out what is the root of the problem. If not, feel how warm your phone is when it restarts - is it overheating?

Problem: Phone regularly freezes and icons are often not displayed correctly. I have cleared the cache etc. but this hasn't helped. It will occasionally freeze, get hotter and hotter and stat like that for 5+ mins

Solution 1: Install google now launcher. Uninstall updates and disable as many of the huawei pre installed apps as you can including the multiple language packs. Problem: I dropped my phone in water and now it's off. What do I do?

Solution 1: Cut the power. Do this now. Don't turn it on.

In an ideal world, you would remove the battery to make sure there is no power going through the phone. The two main types of damage you are likely to do to your phone if it's been exposed to water are:
(1) Short circuit - power running though the phone could short circuit the electrical components inside. Cut the power immediately to minimise this risk.
(2) Corrosion - the internals of the phone are not designed to come into contact with water and are likely to corrode more quickly. But there's not a lot you can do about this.

Best advice, remove the power and leave it a good, long time (days and days, not hours and hours) before you turn the phone on. If you are lucky and you cut the power in time, you might get away with it. Pour away any water you can that's trapped inside, then give the rest of the water enough time to evaporate away.
